Ingredients
3Cdairy free milk, I use almond/coconut milk
3Tbspcocoa powder
1/4TspHimalayan salt
1/3C + 2Tbsphoney
1/2Tspvanilla extract
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, heat milk on medium heat for approximately 1 minute.
Then add remaining ingredients and whisk vigorously until cocoa is completely mixed in and there are no lumps. whisk for about 1 minute continuously - milk will froth up at the top which is good! Optional step 1: skim the foam and reserve in a bowl for later.
Remove from heat, pour in desired heat proof mugs, top with shaved dark chocolate if desired and enjoy. Optional step 2: after pouring the hot chocolate, distribute the reserved foam evenly across the mugs, add shaved dark chocolate and enjoy :)
Notes
This hot chocolate is seriously delicious. If you have any left over, refrigerate and enjoy it cold! It tastes like the perfect milk chocolate :)Be sure you don't leave the milk mixture unattended. This recipe is super quick and you don't want the milk to boil over. Enjoy alone or with your fav toppings... and cookie!
